Group HR & Malaysia Phosphate Additives (Sarawak) engages Politeknik Kuching Sarawak students

With the urgent needs by Malaysian Phosphate Additives (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd (MPAS) to recruit staff with a Petrochemical background, one of the strategies is to scout for potential interns to undergo a comprehensive training where they stand a chance of being recruited upon completion of their internship.

We started our journey on 11 July 2017 as early as 7.00am and arrived at Politeknik Kuching Sarawak an hour later. As this was our 1st time conducting a briefing and interview session with this institution, everyone felt nervous, anxious and at the same time, excited to see how the response would be. We were so thrilled that both the briefing and interview sessions received an overwhelming response, with some 60 final semester Petrochemical students attending.

I started off by introducing the CMS Group of Companies and played the CMS 40th Anniversary Corporate video which received loud cheers from the students. It was a WOW moment for all of us; we felt proud to be part of CMS big family! Vincent then took over the stage introducing MPAS as the new subsidiary of CMS and briefly explained its product. He successfully attracted the students’ attention as they showed great interest by asking many questions.

Finally, it was Bernstien’s turn to fire-up the crowd. He began the session talking about the internship placement offer and it was indeed very uplifting to see encouraging responses from the students. After the presentation, the team proceeded with interview sessions; 60 students were interviewed and all keen to secure a place for internship with MPAS.

20 students were offered and all of them accepted to undergo their internship with MPAS which will start from December 2019 until April 2020.

Thanks to all staff and lecturers of Politeknik Kuching Sarawak for being very supportive.
