I smile each time I reminisce about my running journey. I still have vivid memories of the 1st CMS Health Run at Tunku Putra School back in 2012. I was in pain and had literally collapsed the minute I reached home! There and then, I decided to make health a priority (err, clearly I was in poor shape) and to do that I needed to make time for exercise.
So how did you spend your weekend?
Me? I spent it ‘running for a good cause’.
As businesses continue to evolve today, there is more emphasis being placed on ethics in the business communities. In CMS Quarries, blasting is critical and requires utmost importance and precision. What is ‘blasting’?
CMS annual management retreat was held this year from 23 to 25 October at Samalaju, Bintulu. This round’s participants were very privileged as this was the first time the management retreat was held outside of Kuching.
A total of 68 employees including the senior management team, secretaries, managers and senior executives from the various divisions participated in this year’s retreat.
During the retreat, we received valuable insights from our esteemed leaders and I would like to use this platform to share my personal experience about the retreat and some of these insights I gained, with the CMS family.
On Saturday, 28th October, 11 girls aged between 10 to 16 took part in a showcase of dances, entitled Stories in Motion. The showcase was part of the What About Kuching festival, that happened throughout October, in various guises. The performance evening was held at The Old Courthouse, Kuching, to a packed house filled with an enthusiastic audience.
Friday 29th, Saturday 30th September and Sunday 1st October, 45 students from TPS took part in their school production of Fame Jr! Set in 1984, at the old New York School of Performing Arts, the musical explores the trials and tribulations of a bunch of teenage attendees, following their progress, from Freshman Year to Senior Year graduation.
Kuchingites and out-stationed runners in Betong, Sibu, Bintulu and Miri dusted off their running shoes and adorned fashionable tribal outfits to pace and dash the streets for the CMS Tribal Run 3.0, which took place on Sunday, 27 August 2017. Boasting an impressive 3,100 participants (2,639 in Kuching; 461 in Betong, Sibu, Bintulu and Miri), the sporting event ran with the tagline ‘Run for a Good Cause’, and theme ‘Go Tribal’ was organised by CMS.
The MTDP 3.0 trainees were tasked to produce a Wall Mural for the new pantry at Level 2 of CMS HQ Office. So what did they come up with?
Our 3rd batch of Management Trainees successfully completed their year-long training at the end of March 2017. Out of 19 trainees who came from diverse backgrounds, 16 were offered a position with CMS.
